Alina Snyder
My love for the ocean developed at a young age, growing up in San Diego and both my parents being scuba divers. While in school, I worked for the City of San Diego as a pool lifeguard and swim instructor and my love for teaching took root. I studied Environmental Management at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo while also balancing being a collegiate beach volleyball player. Once I graduated college, I searched for ways to make my childhood dream of diving as a career a reality, the Marine Diving Technology program at Santa Barbara City College helped me discover just that. It opened my eyes to the unique world of commercial diving and the prosperity of opportunities to work below the surface. While going through the program, I worked in the harbor doing hull maintenance and repair for Salty Dog Dive Services. I am now a part time instructor for Marine Tech, co-instructing the scuba diving courses, as well as physics and hyperbaric chambers.
